Are we responsible human beings?
Updated: Apr 5, 2023
From the beginning of time, human beings have lived with conflicts and are still living in conflicts. We are destroying the environment and human beings. So our responsibility is tremendous to enquire about the nature of self.
We can find out only if we assume nothing, we must be FREE to observe.
Acquiring any knowledge requires time. All our actions are the outcome of knowledge and time. I am now this and I shall become that, wanting to become something is time. Our all actions are born out of knowledge which is accumulated in time. Time is also thought.
Knowledge is always self centered means selfish. Selfish actions must be harmful, violent, isolating. There is something radically wrong because we all act from this selfish center of self.
To observe actually what we are, one must observe it freely without the centre of self, without thoughts, without motives. It is very difficult as our mind is conditioned in time and knowledge and being conditioned our approach is also conditioned. If a conditioned approach is not able to resolve conflicts then there must be another way to resolve our confusions and conflicts.
We should inquire whether the self is an idea created by our culture or it is real? Whether the movement of our thoughts has created an illusion of me, soul, self, atman etc?
To inquire we should die to our psychological knowledge while living. Our mind clings to continuity because in continuity it feels secure. Death denies continuity and all security that's why our mind is afraid of being psychologically dead. Our mind has always lived with known so it is afraid to enter into the unknown. But to know the truth we have to face the unknown.
Religions based on books, one book or many books denies doubt and enquiry. If one doubt he can find. Faith has replaced doubt and enquiry. Religions based on books start with certainty and ends with uncertainty whereas doubt and enquiry starts with uncertainty and ends in certainty.
Freedom from all attachment is the psychological death. Death is instant without time. So while living one should end all attachments. Detachment does not happens by thinking or planning which is again time. Only after psychological death something new begins.
Observe without motive, without attachment, without analysis, without direction.
Our mind has accumulated knowledge from ancient times. Our mind needs security so he attaches to the concepts like nation, religion, society and family. The mind of a truth seeker must be free from all that is known to him, free from all illusions created by the mind itself.
The ending of all known concepts is real meditation. To know something beyond known, we should be free from all that is known. If someone says he knows what is there beyond then he knows nothing.
There is one real yoga in which there is no practice, no artificial exercises, only a tremendously moral life with total integrity.
Real meditation means ending of greed, ending of all attachments. Then only the mind can become able to observe freely. Only such free mind can go beyond. When a mind is empty, means nothing, nothing means not a thing created by mind, such mind is full of energy. Compassion, intelligence and love is the quality of that energy.
