What is the Mind?
In exploring the mind we might come close to the beginning of all thoughts, perhaps much deeper, what is a meditative mind?
Our consciousness is our Me and this Me is part of our mind. So our mind as an observer ME wants to find out mind. If Observer Me is part of Mind itself then it cannot find mind separately. To find this one needs great discipline. The enquirer mind must be totally free to find out what is mind and what is the beginning of thought?
To find out the origin of Me opens the door to an enormous dimension of life. The whole consciousness including brain and nervous system is our mind. The entity ME, which observes this, is part of that consciousness. Observer Me is part of observed consciousness.
What is it that is aware? What is it to be aware of? Am I aware with observer me or without observer me?
Observing without observer Me is the actual awareness, which is not contaminated by conscious thoughts. When we look at any tree without its name and descriptions then we can be aware of a tree. Experience is the content of consciousness. Our limited experience creates boundaries around our consciousness hence our consciousness is always limited.
Thought has its origin in limited consciousness, hence thoughts are also limited. If one is aware of experience and beginning of thought within experience then he does not need to control thoughts. There will be thoughts but not division or not conflicts.
One can experience the beginning of thought only when there is silence. When there is freedom there is silence and in that silence there is observation without center and without thinking.
E.g. If we ask questions and remain silent then thoughts of answer will take shape and we can see the beginning of thought in silence. When there is awareness of beginning of thought then there is no need to control thought.
Life with conflicts has no meaning at all whatsoever.
One who is serious, should begin to inquire whether a life without any conflicts exists?
Life can become silent not because of any practice but just observing the facts of life silently. Silence cannot be cultivated, cannot be put together by thought. To understand this, mind must be silent; this silence is meditation. Mind becomes alert and sensitive and from the sensitiveness there is the possibility of going beyond thoughts and all its concepts.
In every new experience, we relate new experience with old experience, which means every new experience is a repetition or modification of old experience.
In silence there is no experience, no repetition or no modification of old.
