The fact is I am violent
Why do I have to believe in non-violence? The fact is I am violent.
I want to know if it is possible to be free of it. I don’t want a belief, I don’t want examples of people who have been non-violent; I don’t believe that. All those people who have preached non-violence have tortured themselves, suppressed their sex, and I don’t want to go into all that.
So I say to myself: why do I need a belief when there is the fact of what is?
J Krishnamurti, From Public Discussion 1, Saanen, 3 August 1966
" The fact is, I am violent. "
What is the exact meaning of this?
In the evolution period, all living things become selfish for self-survival. This selfishness leads to conflict and violence.
If one realizes the truth that he is violent, that realization penetrates deep and the violence in that person disappears.
Violence is a fact and becoming non-violent is a psychological thought.
Fact is What-is and to become psychologicallly something is an illusion.
Why do I need a belief when there is the fact of what-is?
Once the vivid facts of life are understood, there is no reason to believe in psycological concepts.
Why don't we realize the difference between fake and fact?
As per Gita, Bhakta and Jnani are two types of truth seekers.
A Jnani realizes that the Observer is the observed and all his illusions like God, nation, religion etc disappears from his consciousness.
Whereas a devotee considers God as the ultimate experiencer and considers religion and nationalism as actual experiences.
He does not sense that faith and belief are just an ideas.
Delusion arises out of this fundamental illusion and out of it rage, greed, lust, infatuation, violence grow.
His life is made up of the illusory concepts like God, nationalism, Religion. He cannot separate from it and he cannot escape from his illusory life.
